It's found in the eastern part of India in Bihar state in the Patna District. The cause for the damage is unknown. Buddha is also called Shakyamuni meaning a sage of the Shakya clan. This statue shows the most typical Buddha form, seated in meditation. Buddha abandoned his princely life to seek a way to escape the cycle of death and rebirth and i n this pose he calls the earth to witness his successful resistance to the temptations. This status is a dated about 50 -1100 AD.
